Soil-Scout Standard Features

• Power Unit - 58 HP @ 2,300 RPM diesel engine with 12-volt electric start engine. Optional Electric TEFC 3-phase 460VAC induction motor @ 1,800 RPM. Other power options available.
• Feed Mechanism - The main feed consists of double acting chain drive mechanism connected to a hydraulic cylinder with 48” stroke and capable of 11,000 lbs. upward thrust and 11,000 lbs. pull down. Feed speeds are 0-72 RPM up and down. An additional auxiliary feed mechanism is attached to the main feed. This auxiliary feed cylinder has 36” of stroke and is controlled independently of the main feed. The combined feed provides 84” of total stroke.
• Drill Drive - Taken from prime mover through a variable volume over center piston pump and tandem fixed volume pump.
• Drill Head - 4-Speed. 3-5/8” open spindle. Drill head has lateral slide feature.

• Mast - Welded rectangular structural steel tube construction that supports and guides the rotation of feed components. Positioned with one (1) hydraulic cylinder and rigidly held in the vertical position for drilling and is lowered to the travel position for moving from hole to hole. Mast mounting allows for angle as well as 90 degree vertical drilling. Also includes mast dump up to 36”. Includes crown block with sheaves.
• Auger Guide - Specify size required.
• Track Mounting - The entire drill is mounted on a structural steel frame and is self-propelled by 9” rubber crawler tracks with independent reversible hydraulic motor drive as well as full function remote radio control. Ground bearing pressure 5.2 P.S.I. without options or tooling.

2. Cathead Hoist - Hydraulically powered cargo type hoist.
3. Main Drum Hoist - 4,500 lbs. Planetary type with 75’ of 5/16” cable.
4. Quick Disconnect Adapter - U-Joint type for augers, 1-5/8” or 2” Hex.
5. Quick Disconnect Adapter - Rigid type for rod/casing (specify size.)
6. Water Pump - Hydraulically driven with infi nitely variable controls from the operator’s station. Moyno Type 3L6 or equal. 17 GPM @ 225 PSI.
7. Wireline Hoist - Hydraulically powered used for wireline core drilling. 750’ of 3/16” cable. Lifting capacity is 800 lbs. or 2,500 lbs. auxiliary winch.
8. Front Winch - Hydraulically driven, front-mounted with 12,000 lbs. capacity. Capable of operating in conjunction with tracks.
9. Automatic Chuck - HW rod/casing capacity to 3-1/2” O.D.
10. Mast Extension - Allows for 10 ft. rod pulls.
